What Sells in District 5

District 5 is three markets in one building. The Import Commodities Hall stocks food and drink – snacks, wine, olive oil, condiments – alongside skincare, shampoo and soap, mother and baby products, supplements, crafts and home decor. Home Textiles and Bedding covers sheets and duvet covers, pillows, blankets and quilts, curtains, rugs, table linen and cushions. The Automotive Supplies section handles car interiors (seat covers, floor mats, steering wheel covers), exterior trim and decals, maintenance products such as motor oil and cleaners, common spare parts, and electronics such as GPS units and dash cams. It is the quietest of the five districts and the most spread out, so allow more time here than the others.

When to Visit – and When Not To

The import hall is the part to be careful with. Food and cosmetics there are cleared for the Chinese market, which says nothing about whether you can import them into yours. Check your own country’s rules before you spend money in that hall. Home textiles have the longest lead time in the district – 30-45 days – because fabric is dyed to order, so there is no changing your mind on color halfway through.
